Narrative Synopsis

The animation will have a 3 act structure from the intro introducing the character, the middle which will show the world and the character’s reaction to the situation he finds himself in and then the final act which will go against expectations turning the dark serious mood into a light hearted comedic event as a montage takes place. The animation will take place in an alley of an unspecified city as a detective searches for clues at a crime scene. The character will be in the style of a 1950's detective with low energy movements to give him a more of a no nonsense personality. Initially the music will be have a darker tone but will end with a more upbeat musical number. The animation will use filters saturated colour and as the animation progresses, the filters will lessen as the events become clearer until a point where the subversion of expectations takes place and the lighting system will change to make a less dreary atmosphere with a more upbeat soundtrack and the character’s movements will become more energetic with a faster pace and more exaggerated. The end of the animation will be comedic and enjoyable with a different atmosphere and more light hearted tone. The entire animation will be silent though, so if I could find an appropriate voice I may consider adding dialogue to the intro in that fast paced metaphoric mumbo jumbo which was used to get dialog past the sensors in the early films.
